Blessed Is The Match - Jacob Burns Film Center: Saw this film last night, it was very interesting. Couldnt stay for the discusson afterwards (to exausted/long drive home) but I am sure that was good as well. Incredible story.

Fell asleep at 7pm last night, from 10:30 to 1 am, awake at 8.

Planted tomatoes, cucumbers and basil in SI. Hung out with my Grandpa.

Attempted Ikea in Elizabeth NJ for a new chair, left with only picture frames and curtains.

Dinner at Trattoria Romana. Always amazing. Polenta with olive oil, bruschetta, shrimp fra diavolo, gelato and cappuccino. Stuffed.

It’s much easier for humanity to hit a glass wall than a brick wall. “Head On” is part of an installation by Cai Guo-Qiang entitled “I Want to Believe” (currently on exhibit at The Guggenheim).

In this tableau, a pack of 99 life-sized wolves gallops at full force toward a transparent glass wall, leaping through the air in a unified arc, only to collide head on into the unyielding barrier. The wall—first realized to the exact height and thickness of the Berlin Wall—represents society’s tendency to search only for the obvious, missing instead what may not be immediately evident but ultimately more dangerous. In Cai’s artistic iconography, wolves possess a ferocity and courageousness similar to tigers and achieve heroism through their collective unity. In this installation, however, their cohesiveness leads to their ultimate downfall.

So awesome. Will have to check out.

This really is awesome. Saw it on a ‘pay what you want’ friday. Joe and I saw it for 50 cents a piece. I dont understand why the exibit isnt allowing -any- photography though, I would have loved some flash free shots of the works.

I would also love to know how the heck they got the ship at the top of the museum in there in one piece. It was massive (and stunning).
